The Hotbox
THE HOTBOX
We have developed the world's most efficient thermal storage device. We can hold very high temperatures in small spaces for long periods of time using a unique material that has 9 times the specific heat potential of sand and rare earths. We can store about 60,000 BTUs in a cylinder of three inches diameter and about a foot long. The heat is normally transferred from an electric Cal-Rod in the center. The picture below shows a Hot Box with a clear plastic cover.
A thin layer of a unique insulator, called "My Plastic", can keep temperatures of 2,000 degrees F inside while the outside cylinder can be picked up with your bare hands. Of course, this unit will most appropriately compliment the advent of free electricity, but there are many uses for it now, especially with off peak electricity.
