House and Enron (May 23, 2002)
NPR's Greg Allen reports a federal judge in Washington D.C. has ordered
the release of more records from Vice President Dick Cheney's energy policy
task force, to learn more about whose input the task force sought or received.
Some of the documents were also covered by a subpoena issued by a Senate
Committee to the White House yesterday. That subpoena was interested specifically
in contacts between the task force and the Enron Corporation. (4:00)

House is Questioned over Sept. 11 Warnings (May 16, 2002)
The White House faces questions from the press and lawmakers over whether
President Bush could have prevented the Sept. 11 attacks. He was warned
of possible hijackings. NPR's Don Gonyea and Andrea Seabrook report for

Energy Market Manipulation (May 09, 2002)
Widening their probe into alleged manipulation of California's energy
market, state authorities are now ordering more than 100 sellers in the
market to submit sworn statements about whether they used trading tactics
similar to those of Enron. Those tactics were spelled out in company memos
obtained by federal regulators. Federal regulators are now also investigating
the trading activities of Dynegy, a company that was seeking to become
the top energy trader as Enron collapsed. NPR's Scott Horsley reports.

Documents - Reaction (March 27, 2002)
On Monday, the Energy Department released 11,000 pages of documents detailing
contacts with industry executives concerning the nation's energy policy.
The environmental group which sued for access to those papers said today
that the newly released documents offer direct evidence of how industry
executives and lobbyists helped write the administration's energy policy.

The Bush administration turned over 11,000 pages of documents related
to its energy policy just a few hours before a court-ordered deadline,
and after 11 months of resistance. The public-interest groups which sued
to get the papers say much of the key information is still missing. NPR's

Dick Cheney, asking that he release the records of his energy policy task
force for the good of the nation.
